Who is Seletha “Goodie” Small?
Born in the beautiful city of Dothan, Alabama, affectionately known as: the “Circle City”, Seletha Small, was coined the name: “Goodie” at an early age following the song of the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, entitled: “Get on the good foot.” Known for her spontaneity, free-spirit and warm smile Seletha rarely met and to this day, rarely meets any strangers. It is her outgoing personality, beautiful, soulful singing and speaking voice and overall flare that directed her into a life of entertainment, specifically broadcasting and communications. Miss Small’s resume is one that is continuing to be updated—everyday!
Among some of her contributions to the communication industry are:
· WJJN 92.1 Jamz where she began as a radio on-air announcer advancing up to the position of News Director from 1996-2004.
· She then joined the “Radio People” at 105.3 ‘the beat’ serving as not only an on-air announcer, but an Advertising Manager, maximizing quotas, securing maximum sells and going above and beyond what was expected of her.
· From her reputable career in radio, she gained notoriety being asked in 2006 to join the team of WFLM 104.7 in Ft. Pierce, Florida as an entertainment columnist and reviewer.
· Miss Small recognized her true love for the grand-old circle city of Dothan, returning in 2006 to join broadcasting forces with WBBK Magic 93.1 where she currently works in all realms of the station from announcing to advertising sales.
Miss Small is not finished yet, in fact, she’s just beginning! She is a radio activist and plans to be around a very long time. Seletha lives in no one’s shadow, but instead she makes things happen for herself and others.
